Norwood noted postsecondary outcomes for cadets, saying they are "going to Cal Poly Maritime School," cited a cadet majoring in nuclear electronics and another invited to be a "master of arms." She also relayed that a Western Digital recruiter told an industry partners meeting that recruiters "specifically look for people who have had experiences in ROTC programs as well as in the military because they know that they have a high work ethic."
Norwood framed NJROTC as a pathway to scholarships and higher education and recommended families consider it among high-school pathways. The comments were part of the superintendent's report and were followed by announcements about staff recognition events; no formal board action on NJROTC was recorded in the segment.
