Milpitas Unified president urges daily in-person attendance as district nears pre-COVID levels

Norwood said regular, in-person attendance builds "essential skills for work and life, such as collaboration, multiple perspectives, [and] ability to think critically," and helps students form teams and understand others' viewpoints. She framed attendance as foundational to students' success across pathways and postsecondary plans.
The remarks came during the superintendent's report at the board meeting, which Norwood closed by thanking MUSD staff and families. No formal attendance policy change or motion was announced during the remarks.
