Planning agency recommends adding 134.31 acres of Yoder Farm to Douglass Township Agricultural Security Area

The Douglass Township Planning Agency voted April 10 to recommend that the Board of Supervisors add 134.31 acres of the Yoder Farm to the Township Agricultural Security Area (ASA).
Manager Andrew Duncan said the County review found the property meets ASA criteria and that an Agricultural Secure Advisory Committee meeting on March 27, 2025 recommended approval. The acreage identified for inclusion lies along Paper Mill, Lone Pine and Henry Roads.
Mr. Reitz moved and Mr. Richardson seconded the Agency recommendation to the Board of Supervisors; the motion passed with all members recorded Aye in the meeting minutes. The Board of Supervisors will review the recommendation, hold a public hearing and consider adopting a resolution on April 21, 2025.
Why it matters: ASA designation is a tool to preserve farmland and may affect future subdivision, development incentives and eligibility for agricultural programs. The recommendation now moves to the Board for public hearing and final action.
