Polk County approves multiple school health agreements and $4,000 opioid-settlement contract

Polk County commissioners on May 19 approved a series of 2026–2029 school health service agreements and authorized a $4,000 Polk County Opioid Settlement Fund contract with Magelssen Elementary School in Fosston.
Public Health Director Sarah Reese presented the agreements. The board approved school health service contracts with Win‑E‑Mac Independent School District, Climax‑Shelly Independent School District, Fisher Independent School District, and an agreement with Crookston Independent School District to provide health services to the parochial schools Cathedral and Our Savior’s. The board also approved out-of-state travel requests for staff to attend industry trainings (CADCA Mid-Year Training Institute in Orlando; Zero to Three LEARN Conference in Portland) and approved the Magelssen Elementary opioid-settlement contract for $4,000.
Earlier on the agenda the board adopted Resolution 2026-23 accepting a $250 donation from Peterson Ag Services to support the Gala for Girls event in conjunction with Polk County Public Health.
All public-health motions recorded in the minutes were adopted by unanimous vote. The minutes note that details and supporting documents (e.g., the sheriffs monthly report, school agreements, and the donation paperwork) are on file in the administrator’s office.
