Polk County approves BS&A ERP purchase contingent on SSIS integration

Polk County commissioners voted May 19 to move forward with a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from BS&A Software, contingent upon successful integration with the state Social Service Information System (SSIS), and to hire Abdo Financial Solutions to manage the data-conversion work.
Administrator Chuck Whiting and Abdo representatives Jean McGann and Annette Storm presented a Social Services process evaluation and Quarter 1 financial report. The board approved accepting the evaluation and approved the BS&A contract on the condition that the product can integrate with the state system used for Social Services and Public Health. The board also approved a services agreement with Abdo to standardize the county chart of accounts and manage conversion to the BS&A platform.
Commissioner Pape moved to approve the BS&A agreement contingent on SSIS integration; Commissioner Willhite seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record the contingency as the primary issue for the county’s ERP decision.
Abdo’s proposed work will include data organization and project management for the conversion; the board approved the Abdo services agreement to support the BS&A acquisition. The minutes note ongoing coordination with social‑services staff and further technical testing before final implementation schedules or cutover dates are set.
