Falmouth Select Board unanimously appoints Heather Goldstone as chair and Colin Reid vice chair

The Falmouth Select Board on Monday completed its post-election reorganization when Dr. Heather M. H. Goldstone accepted nomination and was appointed chair, and Colin W. Reid was appointed vice chair and clerk.
Goldstone, who was nominated from the floor, said she would emphasize teamwork between the Select Board and town management and flagged long-term finances, coastal resilience and housing as top priorities. "I will commit to responding to all emails, or ensuring that there was a response if appropriate from town management within 48 hours," Goldstone said.
Douglas C. Brown, who said he had considered seeking the chair position, encouraged responsiveness and a stronger communications policy if he were chair. Candidates received support from other board members; the board voted unanimously to approve Goldstone as chair and Reid as vice chair and clerk. The appointments were followed by proclamations and the meeting moved on to the evening’s agenda.
