A May 12, 2026 letter from Superintendent Matt Torix says Pollock’s position has been eliminated for financial reasons and asks that the district’s recommendation of Deryk Russell take effect immediately. The letter was included in the agency packet and presented at the May 11 meeting.
Board members noted the change has not yet been placed on the City Council agenda for formal appointment. Tom Canape asked Cami Story to forward all related emails so he can pursue getting the item onto the next workshop agenda.
The agency did not take a formal vote to confirm the replacement during the May 11 meeting; minutes record only that the board asked staff to pursue placement of the item on a future agenda. The next agency meeting was set for May 26.
The transcript packet includes an email from Peggy Pollock stating she will no longer serve on LURA after her position was eliminated and indicating she will coordinate with Superintendent Torix about a replacement.
