Nash County adopts resolution opposing Senate Bill 214 Part V, Section 5

The Nash County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution opposing Senate Bill 214 Part V, Section 5 at its May 4 meeting.
Chairman Marvin C. Arrington presented the resolution and the board approved it by recorded vote: Arrington, Fred Belfield Jr., Robbie B. Davis, Sue Leggett and Gwen Wilkins voted yes; Commissioners Freddy Howell and J. Wayne Outlaw voted no.
Commissioner Outlaw asked that the minutes reflect his continued opposition to the original language of the bill and said that because the language he opposed has been removed, he views much of the debate as addressing a subject that 'does not exist.' He also said the board already has enough on its plate.
The resolution will be filed by county staff and distributed as appropriate to the bill’s sponsors and other local government counterparts.
