Franklin County agrees to waive deed filing fees for Malone-Branded Road solar farm project

In a Jan. 17 special meeting the Legislature authorized the county clerk to waive recording and survey filing fees for two deeds and a survey map so the Village of Malone and Franklin County can partition village-owned property for the proposed solar farm on Brand Road.
At a Jan. 17 special meeting called by a majority petition, the Franklin County Legislature unanimously adopted Resolution No. 7 authorizing the County Clerk to waive recording and related filing fees for two deeds and a survey map needed to partition Village of Malone property for the county’s Solar Farm Project on Brand Road.
The resolution notes the partitioning produces two separate deeds with separate tax-identification numbers and that one of the resulting parcels will be owned by the Village of Malone and leased to Franklin County for the solar farm. The waiver was approved because the Legislature found the partition and related filings were requested by the county and directly benefit Franklin County’s solar project.
The motion was made and seconded and adopted without dissent; the meeting adjourned at 3:12 p.m.
