Bartholomew County commissioners voted May 18 to award the construction contract for the Heflen Park sanitary force main and lift station to Reed and Sons Construction, the lowest responsive bidder.
Parks Director Rich Day and Jonathan LaTurner of DLZ reported six bids were received and recommended Reed and Sons Construction of Bloomington, Indiana, for a total bid price of $281,412.07, including Alternates One and Two. The commissioners approved the recommendation unanimously; Commissioner Carl H. Lienhoop moved to award the bid and Commissioner Larry S. Kleinhenz seconded.
Following award, DLZ will coordinate submission of contract documents and payment and performance bonds for commissioners’ acceptance, then hold a pre-construction conference with Reed and Sons and interested parties to review project requirements and to obtain a detailed construction schedule.
The meeting record does not specify a construction start date or funding source beyond the bid award.
