The Wilbraham Building Utilization Committee at its Jan. 14 meeting reviewed survey results, agreed to prepare requests for information (RFIs) for several town-owned properties and discussed coordinating a cross-committee workshop to link potential uses with departmental needs.
Jennifer Leydon, who the committee identified as leading the RFI work, reported that RFIs are in preparation for the former Wilbraham Police Department building (Main Street), the Little Red School House and the current Town Hall. The committee also heard that the Wilbraham town administrator will post an RFI for the Memorial site shortly.
Brittany Meece compiled and distributed survey results to committee members for study before upcoming meetings. Brad Senft suggested obtaining valuations of the buildings under consideration to inform reuse and disposition discussions. Committee members discussed holding a cross-committee workshop to align potential uses with department needs; possible dates for the joint meeting were identified as May 17 and May 23.
Procedural actions at the meeting included a motion to accept the minutes, moved by James Rooney and seconded by Brittany Meece (motion carried 7-0), and a motion to adjourn moved by Stanley Soja and seconded by James Rooney (motion carried 8-0). The committee adjourned after the latter vote.
