Wilbraham BUC updates Memorial School review, tours Hampden’s repurposed town hall

The committee then heard from Selectman John Flynn of Hampden, who described how Hampden converted an occupied school building into Hampden Town Hall, including operational changes and the mix of functions now housed there: town offices, the public library and the recreation department. Committee members conducted a site tour of the repurposed facility at about 6:40 p.m. to observe the layout and uses implemented in that conversion.
The meeting’s formal business was brief. At about 7:30 p.m. James Rooney moved to accept the minutes from the previous meeting; Paul Kukulka seconded and the motion carried, 6-0. Later, Stanley Soja moved to adjourn; Kevin Rothschild-Shea seconded and that motion also carried, 6-0. The committee set its next meeting for Feb. 25, 2026. The minutes were signed Feb. 18, 2026, by Co‑Clerk Stanley Soja.
No formal decisions about Memorial School reuse were recorded in the minutes; the session focused on status updates and learning from Hampden’s conversion rather than adopting a plan or directive. The committee adjourned after the procedural votes.
