The Tippecanoe County Board of Commissioners approved several professional‑services and technology contracts during its June 1 meeting.
The highway department presented a professional‑services agreement with United Consulting for design of Bridge No. 6228 (Happy Hollow Ditch Crossing on River Road). The board approved the contract with a not‑to‑exceed design fee of $239,200 after a motion and voice vote.
The board also approved an inspection‑services contract with American StructurePoint related to the West Lafayette build‑operate‑transfer project; staff stated the not‑to‑exceed amount in the meeting as $694,100 and the motion passed by voice vote.
Corey (speaker 10) presented two contracts for participant communications: a phone and video services agreement with Combined Public Communications and a tablet/messaging services contract with CyberPath, both described as 24‑month agreements with 90‑day termination clauses. Staff said participants will pay user fees for the devices and that the county receives a commission on some services; both motions were approved by voice vote.
Staff instructed that these contracts are standard, reviewed by county counsel and include termination clauses; commissioners approved them and directed staff to execute the agreements.
