Saukville utility committee reviews water system repairs and water main loop planning

At the May 20, 2025 meeting of the Saukville Utility Committee, Water Department staff member Dale Kropidlowski reported ongoing PFAS sampling done per Department of Natural Resources requirements and said the results are posted on the Village website.
Kropidlowski said Well #1 (Grady Park) was repaired with a new pump and column pipe at an estimated cost of $55,000; the well was last rehabilitated in 2018. He said divers will inspect the standpipe and water tower in the fall to check for deficiencies and to vacuum out accumulated sediment. The department is also in the process of changing out water meters, though no schedule or total cost was specified in the minutes.
On the water main loop project, Kropidlowski said staff met with property owner Eric Von Schledorn about obtaining an easement through his property; Von Schledorn was described as receptive. Ruekert & Mielke are preparing the design work, and the project is planned to be funded with 2027 borrowing.
