The City of Abbeville held a training workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, convened at 6:02 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem A. Faye Thomas to host an elected-officials ethics presentation and conduct routine council business.
The session opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Pro Tem Thomas and an opening prayer offered by Councilmember James Jackson. City Clerk and Chief Financial Officer Laura A. Snelling recorded attendance and noted no disclosures of potential conflicts of interest or recusals.
Councilmember Jason Edwards moved to approve the agenda for the Jan. 7 training workshop; Councilmember James Jackson seconded. "With no objections the motion passed unanimously," the minutes state, and they note Councilmember John Sutherland was not present for that vote.
