Glassport Borough Council on June 18 approved two related motions to begin televising the borough's main sewer line and to rent the equipment needed to perform the work.
Council voted unanimously to enter an agreement with Edge Al for equipment rental to begin televising the main sewer, with the subscription capped at $2,000 per month. A separate motion to proceed with the televising, inspection and PACP (Pavement Analysis and Coding Protocol) coding at a rate not to exceed $2.50 per foot also passed 5-0.
Why it matters: televising and coding the main sewer will give borough staff and engineers a condition assessment and a coded inventory of defects to inform repair or replacement priorities. The recorded motions set both a monthly equipment cap and a per-foot inspection cap.
Next steps: council authorized staff to finalize the Edge Al subscription and commence televising work and inspections; the council will receive the televising results and any recommended remediation in a future report.
