Town Clerk Sandra Regan told the board the existing six‑month moratorium expires July 17 and, citing guidance from The Association of Towns, said a moratorium cannot be extended by resolution and instead must be enacted through a local law and a public hearing. The board discussed the length and scope and voted to accept the proposed local law and set the hearing date.
The action leaves the moratorium in place for eight months pending study and any zoning work the board may pursue; the clerk will publish the hearing notice in the Times Telegram.
