West Whiteland elects Brian Dunn chair, confirms staff and consultant slate

At its Jan. 5 organizational meeting, West Whiteland supervisors elected Brian Dunn chair and Rajesh Kumbhardare vice-chair, approved staff and consultant appointments, set a $1.5 million surety bond, and adopted routine resolutions and schedules.
Supervisor Brian Dunn was elected chair of the West Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors during the board’s Jan. 5 organization meeting, after a nomination from Supervisor Libby Madarasz and a unanimous vote. Rajesh Kumbhardare was elected vice-chair in a subsequent unanimous vote.
The board approved a slate of staff appointments as read by Vice-Chair Kumbhardare, including Pam Gural-Bear as secretary and pension administrator and Caroline Partridge as treasurer. The supervisors also confirmed zoning and open-records assignments, planning and public-services liaisons, and other administrative roles.
Consultant appointments were approved unanimously. The board designated Kilkenny Law for general solicitor work, Gawthrop Greenwood for zoning-hearing-board counsel, Spotts, Stevens & McCoy as township engineer, Remington & Vernick Engineers for sanitary-sewer engineering, Bowman Consulting for traffic engineering, and other firms for plan review and inspection services. The board appointed Maillie LLP as the certified public accountants to audit the township’s 2025 financial statements.
The supervisors set the amount of the surety bond covering the treasurer and township manager at $1,500,000 and enacted Resolutions 2026-01 through 2026-06 covering zoning appointments, fee schedules, sewer-rent rates, trash and recycling rates, designation of emergency-service providers, and depositories for township funds. The board also adopted the 2026 meeting schedule for township boards and commissions and the 2026 holiday schedule for non-uniformed employees.
All motions described above were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.
