Records Improvement Committee accepts 2025 fund report; Scantek project to continue into 2026

The Centre County Records Improvement Committee unanimously accepted the 2025 financial report for the Records Improvement Fund on April 28.
Richard Killian, the county’s Director of Budget & Finance, presented the report showing a beginning balance on Jan. 1, 2025, of $189,258.22 and total 2025 revenue of $26,030. Killian said the Scantek project was expensed at $46,861.57 in 2025, leaving an ending balance for 2025 of $168,426.65. He said the Committee previously approved billing the Scantek project over three years and that an additional encumbrance of $45,330 was planned for 2026, which would reduce available funds to $123,096.65 once encumbered.
Treasurer Colleen Kennedy moved to accept the financial report; Register of Wills Christine Milliner seconded the motion and the Committee voted unanimously to approve the report. Minutes record the action without dissent.
The Committee also discussed that the Scantek project will carry over into 2026 with the stated encumbrance; no further budget actions were taken at this meeting.
