The Town of Richland and Village of Pulaski Comprehensive Planning Board resumed review of the draft comprehensive plan on April 2 and approved targeted wording changes, including adding 'Port Ontario' to the hamlets list and removing the adjective 'historic' from one paragraph.
The board continued its line-by-line edit on page 184. Millie Newcomb, a Town representative, was recorded as noting the change to hamlet listings and volunteered to check whether there is an existing list of historic buildings in the hamlets and to contact a person named Shawn about protections for such buildings. The minutes list specific buildings cited during the review: the Bethel and Lighthouse at Port Ontario, Rural Migrant Ministries, the Halfshire in Richland, and the Mill and Community Center in Fernwood.
Board members also revised the Recommended Actions wording, shortening the section and adding the phrase 'and interpretive areas' after 'hiking' to clarify recreational recommendations. The entry for Selkirk was amended by adding 'Light House.' Several action items were relettered; participants noted that page-number references may shift after formatting updates. Jan Tighe, a Village representative, was assigned to check with the County Historian for a more accurate count of Revolutionary War veterans referenced in the plan.
The board recorded no direct quotations in the official minutes; the log assigns tasks for follow-up (historic-resource checks and a historian inquiry) and sets proofreading and printing steps to continue the plan's production. The board will review further revisions at subsequent meetings.
