Council awards $4M+ reconstruction contract for Timber Valley Drive and Fairfield Lane

—This is a neighborhood that was built in the late seventies ... 50 year old infrastructure and it shows when you get to this point, it's time to rebuild,— Brockway said, describing 3,600 feet of concrete and base material, new sidewalks and ramps, 4,500 feet of water main and 3,500 feet of sanitary sewer.
Staff reported a strong procurement response (15 qualified bidders) and said the work will include significant subsurface repairs to improve longevity. Council moved, seconded and approved the award by unanimous roll call.
Why it matters: the project replaces failing roadway and underground utilities in a residential area and is funded through the town's capital program; the work will affect adjacent residents during construction but is intended to extend pavement life substantially.
Next steps: staff will schedule neighborhood meetings and begin construction this summer with an estimated 400-day completion timeline.
