The Board of Supervisors of West Deer Township approved its 2025 budget and set the township tax levy during the Dec. 18 regular meeting.
"Levying the general purposes tax rate for 2025 tax year at 2.90 mills, and the fire tax rate for 2025 at 0.50 mills," Chair Mrs. Jordan said while presenting Resolution No. 2024‑14 before the Board moved and approved the measure by voice vote.
The Board then adopted Resolution No. 2024‑15, the Township’s 2025 budget. The motion to adopt the budget was made by Supervisor Hollibaugh and seconded by Supervisor Smullin; the Board approved it by voice vote.
The budget and levy actions were routine agenda items. Supervisors also approved the minutes of the Nov. 20 special and regular meetings (a roll‑call vote that passed 4–1 after Supervisor Wiegand objected that some of his comments were not reflected) and accepted the finance officer’s monthly report and the list of bills.
The fiscal package the Board adopted covers general operations and includes the newly advertised tax‑collector compensation ordinance (Ordinance No. 460) for future advertisement and Public Safety funding through the adopted fire tax. The Board did not indicate changes to line‑item allocations at the meeting; staff said budget documents are posted on the Township website.
The supervisors said they expect the township’s posted budget materials and supporting documents to remain the authoritative source for specific line items and that routine financial monitoring will continue through monthly finance reports.
