The Lebanon Township Committee voted unanimously June 19 to form a joint Zoning Sub‑Committee to review current zoning and potential future uses of state-owned land, committee members said at a special meeting chaired by Mayor Brian Wunder.
Beverly Koehler, a township committee member, moved to create the subcommittee and recommended that the group include Jay Wojcik, herself, Township Attorney Mark Roselli, Planning Board Attorney Steve Warner and Township Planner Jessica Caldwell. Jay Wojcik seconded the motion; the motion passed 5–0.
The subcommittee was authorized to examine the township’s existing zoning for the state parcel and to consider whether different land uses might come before the township. Koehler then asked that the committee set a follow-up special meeting to include subcommittee members who were not present; Wojcik moved to set that meeting, Koehler seconded, and the motion likewise passed unanimously.
During the second public-comment period, a member of the public urged the township to seek attorney advice and take steps to "protect the municipality," the commenter said. No other members of the public spoke.
The meeting opened at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned at 5:06 p.m. The committee recorded attendance and votes in the minutes and said the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act.
