Oak Park MAC adopts consolidated election timeline for three seats; nomination period set July 13–Aug. 7

The Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council voted unanimously May 28 to adopt the resolution and timeline for the 2026 consolidated MAC election.
Crystal Stratton, representing Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell’s Office, reviewed the election materials and explained that three MAC seats will be on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot: the terms of J.L. Diaz, Brian Trushinski, and Michelle Santucci expire Dec. 4, 2026. Stratton said the nomination period opens July 13, 2026 and closes Aug. 7, 2026 at 5:00 PM, and she directed prospective candidates to the Ventura County Elections Division for nomination papers, filing packets, and instructions.
Jane Nye moved to approve the resolution and election timeline; Brianna Adams seconded. The motion was approved unanimously.
Councilmembers were told that the Chair would be required to sign the election resolution after the meeting. No contested races were reported at the time of the meeting; prospective candidates were advised to contact the Elections Division for deadlines and filing requirements.
The council also noted that the election packet, Notice of Election, Resolution, and Election Timeline were posted on the Oak Park MAC website.
