Council accepts Deputy Clerk's retirement, promotes assistant and tables new logo

Chisago City Council accepted the resignation of Deputy Clerk Paula Oehme and approved promotion of Alisa Bodell to Deputy City Clerk at its May 27 meeting.
Administrator John Pechman praised Oehme's nearly 25 years of service, noted her role coordinating elections, and asked the council to accept her formal letter of retirement. The council accepted her resignation with regrets by unanimous vote. Staff and the personnel committee recommended promoting Alisa Bodell from Executive Assistant to Deputy Clerk and reclassifying the Executive Assistant position to a part-time (30 hours/week) Administrative Assistant role; the council approved the promotion and authorized staff to begin recruitment.
Separately, staff presented several new logo designs developed by Parks staff. The design favored in staff review featured a loon with northern lights. Council members discussed the need for a logo change and decided to table the decision; Mayor Dresel moved to schedule a workshop to discuss logo options prior to the next regular meeting and the motion carried.
