The IRPS committee voted to approve several routine administrative items on its agenda. The committee approved the minutes from the prior IRPS meeting (agenda item 20260990).
Under fire‑rescue business, staff presented a lease agreement with Georgia Power to provide street lighting for new Fire Station 16 and Fire Station 27; transportation staff explained the county has no lighting/maintenance division and that Georgia Power remains the practical provider for lights in the public right‑of‑way. Commissioners asked about metering and alternatives; staff said those options apply in limited Georgia DOT corridor agreements but not for local street poles. The motion to approve the street‑lighting lease carried.
The committee also approved change order number 4 to contract 1210840 for inspection, decontamination and cleaning of personal protective equipment (PPE) — a multiyear contract awarded to North America Fire Equipment Company Inc., with funds and term extended through Oct. 27, 2026, amount not to exceed $75,000 — and change order number 1 to contract 2000432 for SCBA purchase/repair/maintenance (MES Service Company LLC) with funds and term extended through Oct. 30, 2026, amount not to exceed $80,000. Staff said both extensions bridge procurement while current bid processes conclude.
Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote (recorded as 'All in favor, aye. Motion carries.').
