An administrator told the East Allegheny School District board that the tentative public release date for student schedules is Aug. 1 so the district can accommodate an unanticipated influx of ninth graders. "Minimally August 1," the administrator said when asked when schedules would be released.
Staff said course data are loaded into the district’s OMA system and administrators, principals and building secretaries have access to preflight. The administrator reported a 96% fill rate for courses in the current setup and said the Aug. 18 open house will give families roughly two and a half weeks to preview schedules before school starts.
Trustees discussed leaving open a few slots to accommodate late registrants and noted counselors would return around Aug. 10 to help families with adjustments. The administrator said this timeline should allow staff to balance increased enrollment before making schedules publicly available.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the Aug. 1 release plan unless enrollment shifts require further adjustment; counselors will be available in early August to support schedule changes.
