Town Assessor Bill Hinman told the board that the dwelling was destroyed and presented tax calculations for the affected tax year; Town Treasurer Mary Gratton reported taxes, interest and penalty that together totaled $956.74. Chair Andy Mikell asked for a motion; Tony Lamb moved to provide a refund check to the homeowners, seconded by Ted Kenney. The motion carried.
The board noted that a field check of the property will be conducted at a future date to confirm the assessor’s records. The hearing was closed after the vote and the refund will be issued to Darin and Lisa Jaques by the Town of Williston.
