The Town of Williston Board of Civil Authority on July 22 agreed to continue an appeal hearing for parcel 08103.002000 (166 Sycamore St.), owned by Maple Tree Place Owner, LLC, until Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at 6 p.m., either in person or on Zoom.
Chair Andy Mikell called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m., reviewed new open meeting law recording and posting requirements, asked about conflicts of interest and ex parte communications (none were reported), and administered oaths to board members and appellants. Lister Linda Levitt introduced the appeal and asked Connor Morrow, representative for the appellant, to summarize his communications with Williston Assessor Bill Hinman.
Morrow said he and the assessor have been in contact and that both parties agree additional time is needed to gather information related to Maple Tree Place. The parties requested a six-week continuance. The listers, the Board of Civil Authority and the appellant agreed to the extension, and the hearing was recessed to Sept. 9, 2024 at 6 p.m.
The transcript records no formal roll-call vote on the continuance; the hearing was recessed by mutual agreement. The next scheduled action on this appeal is the reconvened hearing on Sept. 9, 2024.
