Jean Allen of JMA Architects presented the work, saying the second‑floor cantilever (2 feet by 17 feet) will balance bedroom sizes for teenage occupants, and the garage expansion will provide space for the homeowner’s woodworking without increasing the degree of nonconformity. "The proposed cantilever gives equal‑sized bedrooms for the teenagers and keeps the garage expansion within the scope the family needs," Allen said.
Board members reviewed plans prepared by JMA Architects and found the additions would not be substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood than the existing nonconforming structures. The approval requires construction to follow the submitted plans (David P. Taranzoni plot and JMA plans dated March 2026) and standard conditions.
The motion carried with board members voting in favor; staff will circulate the required plan references for filing.
