Residents press Blair Township on drainage; supervisors grant 45-day extension for Harker stormwater review

Several residents raised localized stormwater and drainage concerns during public comment on Nov. 18. Patricia Haight told the board her neighborhood on Mariana Circle "does not have adequate drainage," and Chairman Amigh said he and Road Foreman John Reed would visit the site and review previous enforcement reports.
Brandon Schwartz and Denny Buda of Cedarcrest Drive reiterated ongoing stormwater-runoff issues and asked for additional stormwater management in their area. Amigh told homeowners the township will continue to monitor the systems and identify needed improvements but reminded residents the township cannot use taxpayer funds to remedy problems on private property in flood-prone locations.
On development reviews, Eric Banks (Stiffler McGraw) reported no response to the engineering review for the Joel Harker stormwater-management plan and recommended a 45-day extension to the municipal review period (current deadline Dec. 12, 2025). The board approved the 45-day extension and then voted to table the Harker plan pending further review. Banks also recommended personally contacting residents about easements for the Brentwood Stormwater project before submitting documents to DEP and the Blair County Conservation District; no formal action was taken on that recommendation.
