Sylvia Alaniz of the Eastgate Neighborhood Association opposed the expansion, saying large 18‑wheeler truck traffic currently intrudes on residential streets and that recent bond-funded drainage work highlights local infrastructure constraints. Other nearby residents described privacy, septic and historic‑resource concerns and urged the commission to respect the existing single‑family character.
The applicant accepted a continuance; commissioners and staff encouraged direct outreach and a follow‑up meeting coordinated with the district liaison. The case was continued to July 7 so the applicant can refine the proposal and meet with neighbors.
