Blair Township appoints two to Water and Sewer Authority after vacancy

The Blair Township Board of Supervisors appointed two members to the Water and Sewer Authority during its Dec. 9 meeting.
Chairman Paul Amigh nominated Edward (Ed) Silvetti to fill a full five-year term and nominated Ronald Sommer to fill an unexpired term left vacant by the passing of Board member Teddy Ventre. Supervisor Brad Germaux seconded both nominations and the board approved each appointment unanimously.
Secretary/Treasurer Kami Bilek told the board two letters of interest were received from current authority member Ed Silvetti and Planning Commission member Timothy Shaw; Chairman Amigh said he also received a letter from resident Ronald Sommer. Amigh said he believes Sommer "will be a positive addition to the Water and Sewer Authority Board, as he has been a Blair Township resident for many years, has owned his own dental practice for many years, and sat on the Hollidaysburg Area School Board for several years." The appointments were recorded as unanimous votes by the three supervisors present.
The board did not discuss additional procedural conditions for seating the appointees at the meeting; the record shows standard appointment motions and votes.
