Hollidaysburg EMS tells Blair Township it answered 182 calls and is expanding training

Hollidaysburg EMS told the Blair Township Board on Nov. 18 that it has answered 182 calls in the township through Nov. 15, 2025, opened a training center in 2023 and plans further paramedic and instructor courses in 2026; the service clarified it is not party to a Sunshine Act lawsuit over bidding in nearby Martinsburg.
Nichole Nagle and Jessica Reilly of Hollidaysburg EMS updated the Blair Township Board of Supervisors on Nov. 18, saying the service had answered 182 calls in the township through Nov. 15, 2025, including 165 calls in Duncansville.
"Through November 15, 2025 we have answered 182 calls to Blair Township residents," Nichole Nagle said, and the service reported it opened a training center in June 2023 that has already run two AEMT classes and one EMT class. Hollidaysburg EMS said it is preparing a paramedic class and an EMT instructor course in 2026 and that its training programs are Penn State–accredited as well as state certified.
The EMS representatives described the training center as a way to put newly trained personnel into ambulances quickly. Jessica Reilly said tracking call locations is straightforward: both the service and Blair 9-1-1 track where calls originate.
The board also heard that Martinsburg’s coverage will transfer to AMED after Dec. 31, 2025. Reilly clarified that Hollidaysburg EMS itself is not a party to a lawsuit over bidding; she said community members formed a group that filed a suit alleging a Sunshine Act violation related to bidding but that Hollidaysburg EMS is not involved in that litigation.
Chairman Paul Amigh thanked the EMS representatives for their time and reiterated the board’s support for Hollidaysburg EMS.
