Moultonborough announces $10,000 library accessibility grant, dock updates and town service changes

Moultonborough — Town Administrator Angela Bovill told the Board of Selectmen April 21 that the Moultonborough Public Library received a $10,000 national grant for small and rural libraries to support accessibility improvements and outreach. The library will hold a community conversation on Wednesday, May 13 at 3:30 PM focused on improving access for residents with disabilities.
Bovill said the Code Enforcement Office will not renew the current SDL software and staff are exploring alternative vendors. She also announced that the Transfer Station is now accepting credit-card payments and that the administration office plans to roll out card acceptance soon.
Public Works updates include upcoming agenda items expected in May: a proposed pole barn at the Public Safety Building and replacement of the Transfer Station truck scale. Road reclamation and paving began this week on Colonial Drive and Hayes Lane as weather permitted. Docks were installed at States Landing, Lees Mills and Long Island; Kraine Meadow bathrooms are open and States Landing bathrooms are expected to open in the coming weeks.
Bovill reported that the Town Clerk’s rabies clinic on April 18, conducted with the NH Humane Society, administered 22 rabies vaccinations and resulted in four dog registrations at Town Hall. Chairman Quinlan also announced Community Clean Up Day on April 24 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM; meeting location is the Recreation Department building and bags will be provided.
During citizen input, resident Al Hoch of Pinehurst Island thanked the Board for the early installation of the Lees Mills docks and asked that the light at the launch ramp be repaired.
The Board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for May 5, 2026.
