Trustee Loretta J. Teets told the Committee that the Back-to-School event distributed 163 book bags to students and that event sponsors included Jay’s Fresh Market, Swap-O-Rama, Purpura Medspa, Mannheim Liquors and Studio 29. Studio 29 provided 24 free haircuts for children. Teets said the Board appreciated sponsor support and reminded officials that Music in the Park is scheduled for Sept. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m., with bands and a few food vendors.
Teets also reported 39 garage sales participated in the Aug. 15–17 Village-wide Garage Sale and announced Halloween activities scheduled for Oct. 31; Wintrust Bank donated $1,000 in support of Halloween events. Trustee Nazario Garcia announced four businesses opened since March 25, 2025: Patrone Restaurant (1536 N. Mannheim Road), Enviyon Entertainment LLC (1511 N. Mannheim Road), Cielo (3801 W. Lake Street) and JC1 Auto Shop (1642 N. Mannheim Road).
