Trustees appoint Loretta J. Teets mayor pro tempore in Mayor Mazzulla’s absence

The Village of Stone Park Board of Trustees appointed Trustee Loretta J. Teets as mayor pro tempore during its Committee meeting on Aug. 26, 2025. The appointment was made by motion of Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez and seconded by Trustee Marco T. Paz; the roll-call vote recorded aye votes from Trustees Teets, Gutierrez, Terrazas, Paz, Nazario Garcia and Simplisio Roman. The motion passed unanimously.
The appointment authorizes Trustee Teets to preside in Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla’s absence and to perform the mayoral duties delegated to the pro tempore position until the Mayor returns or the Board changes the designation. Clerk Laura Cassidy-Hatchet recorded attendance for the meeting, which was called to order at 6:03 p.m.
The Board took no additional formal action related to the mayor’s office during the Committee meeting. The regular Board meeting minutes show the appointment as the primary governance decision made at the Aug. 26 Committee session.
