Upper St. Clair Township Library launches summer reading challenges and a calendar of events through Aug. 13

The Upper St. Clair Township Library announced the start of its summer reading and activity challenges for all ages, running from June 1 through Aug. 13. Programs can be completed on paper or online via Beanstack, and the library is offering age-specific activities including a kids’ summer bingo (preschool through fifth grade), a teen and tween challenge for those entering grades 6–12, and an adult reading challenge.
The library’s summer calendar includes weekly story times beginning Monday, June 8; Public Works Day at the McLaughlin Run Activity Center parking lot on Friday, June 12 (with public-works vehicles on display); Make a Mess at Municipal Park on June 15 (repeating in July and August); the Fact versus Fiction book-explorers club for grades 1–3 starting June 15; and a poolside book club at the CNRC during June–August. Adult programming includes a Friends of the Library-sponsored lecture series featuring collections from Frick Pittsburgh.
Volunteer opportunities for students entering grades 6–12 remain open with the application closing Tuesday, June 30. The library advised patrons to consult twpusc.org/library and twpusc.libcal.com for schedules and to join the mailing list to receive event updates.
