At the April 22 meeting of the Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission, Wetlands Agent Alyssa Barroso provided updates on several active projects and site issues.
148 Brandy: Barroso inspected an underground pool project and said minor adjustments are needed to the silt fence.
180 Bolton Center: Multiple departments are reviewing this project; Barroso reported the site is not adequately maintaining erosion and sediment (ENS) controls and flagged the need for continued oversight.
65 Shoddy Mill: Barroso said she spoke with the wetland scientist and that planting and other work will resume soon; she expects a fuller update from the scientist.
Shady Lane: Barroso reported a drainage problem in the cul-de-sac and said she has issued a letter to a property owner stating it is the owner’s responsibility to clear a nonfunctioning drainage ditch.
1 Notch Road: Barroso said the property has been sold; she met with the new owner about outstanding wetlands issues and reported the new owner appeared cooperative and willing to work toward permit closeout.
271 Hop River Road: Barroso reported the new gas station is open and that a trail behind the station has been completed and is open to the public. "It is a beautiful trail and everything is stable," she said.
Barroso said she has begun semi-weekly inspections of ongoing projects and will continue monitoring the sites noted above.
