Wetlands agent flags erosion at 180 Bolton Center Road, drainage risks at Shady Lane cul‑de‑sac

Alyssa Barroso, Bolton’s wetlands agent, reported at the commission’s March 25 meeting that she has begun semi‑weekly inspections of ongoing projects and provided several site updates.
Barroso said construction of an in‑ground pool at 148 Brandy is proceeding well. At 180 Bolton Center Road she reported problems with unstable material and erosion and said she will send a letter to the property owner asking for corrective action. At 271 Hop River Road the gas station’s outstanding issues have been cleaned up and the station is set to open shortly.
Barroso highlighted drainage problems at the Shady Lane cul‑de‑sac, reporting the culvert under the road is packed with eroded material and becomes a cesspool in summer months, which she characterized as a potential health concern. She said she will issue a letter to the responsible property owner to clear the ditch and will consult with Town Administrator Jim Rupert about redesigning the ditch and culvert.
The commission did not vote on funding or require immediate emergency repairs at the March meeting; Barroso will proceed with written notices to owners and follow up at a future meeting.
