Property owner reports partial remediation at 37 Notch Road; commission to revisit case in May

At the Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission meeting April 22, property owner and tenant Alexey Ouzonov updated the commission on a cease-and-correct order for debris in the wetlands at 37 Notch Road and said some remediation work has been completed.
Ouzonov said he was unable to secure a soil scientist two weeks earlier and raised concerns about the cost of hiring one. He told the commission he has pulled back wood chips from the wetland area and that he and others have decided not to pursue planned farming of the site.
Wetlands Agent Alyssa Barroso said she had contacted a soil scientist she knows who provided a quote of $800 and that she would forward the contact information to Ouzonov; Ouzonov said he could afford that cost.
The commission directed staff to add the item back to the May agenda for further discussion and an update on remediation and any required corrective steps.
