The Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission voted unanimously April 22 to amend Permit #1W-25-3 to allow applicant James Read a 1.9-foot plan adjustment toward the high-water mark for property at 0 Vernon Road.
James Read told the commission that a miscalculation was discovered when he appeared before the Board of Zoning Appeals and that, as a result, “the house and deck would be 1.9 feet closer to the water.” He said the proposed house depth would increase from 16 feet to 18 feet while the deck would remain the same size.
Wetlands Agent Alyssa Barroso said she did not believe the change would constitute an official modification to the permit as previously issued but acknowledged the commission could amend the permit to reflect the corrected dimensions.
Vice Chair James Loersch moved to allow Read to alter his plan by 1.9 feet and to amend Permit #1W-25-3 accordingly; Member Michael McDonnell seconded. The motion carried unanimously, recorded as 4:0:0.
Next steps: the commission directed staff to amend the permit documentation to reflect the approved 1.9-foot change. The permit amendment and updated plans will be part of the meeting record and municipal files.
