Storm Lake approves Oneida Street engineering agreement and sets Well No. 23 hearing and bid dates

The Storm Lake City Council on June 1 approved a professional services agreement with Bolton and Mank for the Oneida Street Reconstruction Phase 2 project and set associated dates for a separate well project.
City staff presented the Oneida project, which has an estimated total cost of $4,200,000 and $1,000,000 of secured grant funding. Staff said the contract for design and bidding services will not exceed $420,000, and that the construction procurement is tentatively scheduled for January 2027 bidding with construction from April 2027 through April 2028.
"This professional services agreement will provide engineering services for this public infrastructure improvement," staff said before council approved the motion by voice vote.
Separately, staff described proposed plans, specifications and cost estimates for Well Number 23 as a replacement candidate for Well 11. Council set a public hearing for July 6 and scheduled a public bid letting for June 25 at 10 a.m.; the resolution was adopted by roll-call vote.
Staff said more detailed schedule and funding steps will follow as the projects move from design into procurement and construction phases.
