Yarmouth Commission on Disability suspends handicapped parking assessment amid Route 28 construction

Vice Chair Jessica Simmons made the motion to suspend the assessment; Commissioner Mary Vitbon seconded it. The motion passed by a 5-0 vote. Commissioners present were Chair Phyttis Vennberg, Vice Chair Jessica Simmons, Jean Boyte, Mary Vitbon and John Mitchett, and the recorded tally was five in favor, none opposed.
Members discussed revisiting the assessment's education component to ensure local businesses and property owners are reminded of handicapped parking requirements. The commission assigned Mary Vitbon and Jean Boyte to draft messaging on the education outreach for review at the next meeting.
