Franklin County supervisors adopt resolution authorizing destruction of specified 2024 primary election materials

Katy A. Flint, Franklin County Auditor and Clerk to the Board, presented the inventory of records the Auditor’s office identified for destruction and read the resolution citing Section 331.323(2)(d) of the Code of Iowa, which authorizes a board of supervisors to permit a county officer to dispose of nonpermanent records. The inventory lists “June 4th, 2024, Primary Election – All Materials.”
The Board approved the resolution on a roll-call vote: Ayes — Lukensmeyer, McVicker and Vanness; Nays — none. The resolution directs the Auditor to destroy the identified records “in an appropriate and secure manner.”
The resolution was introduced and discussed during the meeting; no alternate dispositions or objections were recorded in the transcript. Acting afterward in their capacity as Drainage Trustees, the Board approved drainage minutes from May 26 and May 29, 2026. Chairman Chris Vanness adjourned the session at 9:19 a.m. The Board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for June 9, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at the Franklin County Courthouse.
