Red Hook board completes annual reorganization, reappoints chairs and fills vacancies

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Red Hook Town Board completed its annual reorganization, reappointing chairs and filling vacancies across multiple town committees and advisory boards.
The Board reappointed Mary Ann Johnson as chair of the Agricultural and Open Space Advisory Committee and as a member of the Community Preservation Fund/PDR Advisory Committee; R. Pete Hubbell was reappointed as chair of the Assessment Review Board; Jonathan Brady was reappointed coordinator of the Climate Smart Communities Task Force; Julia Solomon was reappointed chair of the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee; Chris Gilbert was reappointed chair of the Design Review/Hamlet Committee; Denis Collet was reappointed chair of the Energy Committee; David Sokol was appointed chair of the Housing Committee; Sam Phelan was reappointed chair of the Planning Board; Doug Strawinski was reappointed chair of the Recreation Commission; and Cathy Michael was reappointed chair of the Tree Preservation Commission.
Most motions were moved and seconded by board members and adopted on roll-call votes recorded as Ayes 5. The Board also corrected the Zoning Board of Appeals appointment for George Philip Jahn so his term now ends Dec. 31, 2029 rather than 2030.
Supervisor McKeon briefly reviewed a draft out-of-district water service agreement for Bard College and noted the draft was for review only; Councilmember Kristina Dousharm said the town should explore Bard’s potential contribution to rehabilitating the town water tank if Bard does not build its own storage tank.
The Board closed the meeting following the reorganization votes; the Town Clerk Deanna Cochran certified the minutes.
