Bernalillo council approves $26,600 in Lodger's Tax awards for events and park improvements

Kloeppel laid out the recommendations: Friends of Coronado — Fiesta of Culture, $3,000 for advertising and marketing; Rotary Park capital improvements, $5,000; Sandia Shadows Cluster Dog Show, $4,600 (split as $2,400 for advertising and marketing and $2,200 for sanitation services); Town of Bernalillo partnership with the Sandoval County Tourism Alliance, $11,000 for advertising and marketing; and the town’s 39th Annual Tree Lighting and Nighttime Christmas Parade, $3,000 for advertising and marketing. The total recommended on Oct. 18, 2023, was $26,600.
Councilor Torres-Quintana moved to approve the October 2023 Lodger's Tax funding list; Councilor Montoya seconded and the measure passed by unanimous roll call. The allocations are reflected in the meeting record and funded from Lodger's Tax receipts; no competing proposals or conditions were recorded during the discussion.
