ADRC to distribute Farmer’s Market vouchers June 1; events and staffing updates discussed

At the May 26 meeting, ADRC Manager Ms. Mya Olkowski told the committee that Farmer’s Market vouchers will be available at the ADRC front desk on June 1. Eligibility listed in the minutes: Oneida County residents age 60 or older (55 if Native American) who meet monthly income requirements; the minutes record income figures of $2,461 for a household of one and $876 for each additional household member, and $25 in vouchers per household.
Olkowski also reviewed program activity: calls and walk-ins declined in April after tax season, and adult protective services (APS) referrals increased compared with the same time last year. She summarized recent events (Fun Friday Picnic in the Park on May 22 with about 60 participants) and upcoming events including World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 18 (presentation by Donna Rosner, GWAAR Elder Abuse Program Specialist) and a boating trip on Boom Lake on June 26 organized by the 'Let’s Go Fishing' Hodag Chapter. Agency staffing updates were provided by Mr. Joel Gottsacker, who said five positions were filled in April and May, five positions are in process, and the ADRC is accepting applications to fill the citizen member vacancy with a June 15 deadline. Financial reports were reviewed and no red flags were reported.
