The Evanston Human Services Committee on June 1 approved a resolution to buy 30 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for the police department, authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement with General Medical Devices Inc. for $53,970.
Council Member Rogers moved the resolution (Resolution 103 R 26) and Council Member Ayles seconded. Chair Chrissy Harris supported the purchase, calling AEDs "lifesaving mechanisms" and voting in favor. The committee approved the resolution by roll call, 3–0. The Police Department and Finance staff will proceed with contract execution and standard procurement reporting.
The committee adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
