Neighbors’ concerns about a shared driveway prompt continuance of Laut’s Landing final plat hearing

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors continued a public hearing on the final plat for Laut’s Landing on May 26 after a nearby property owner raised concerns about a shared driveway.
Planning & Development Director David Hockett presented the final plat and explained the proposed lot layout. Neighbor Tyler Alexander said he does not want to share a driveway with two of the proposed lots, raising questions about access and ownership. Brett Baker told the board he believed the drive is a decommissioned road and not owned by Alexander. Hockett said he was not aware of Alexander’s concerns and asked staff to consult the owner and the surveyor for clarification.

Supervisor Kim Chapman moved to continue the public hearing after review of easements and surveys; Supervisor Brad Golightly seconded and the motion carried with all ayes. The board asked staff to return with additional information before rescheduling the hearing.
The continuance leaves the plat unresolved until property ownership and easement questions are clarified; neighbors and the applicant will be able to provide further input at the resumed hearing.
